Rainbow Glitter Gradient Nail Art with L'Oreal Polishes

Rainbow Glitter Gradient Nail Art with L'Oreal Color Nail Polish in Macaron Noisette and Sequin Explosion - www.hairnailsetc.blogspot.co.uk / ig@amyforsythe

Today is a relatively exciting day for me because my broken nail has finally grown back! Cue the fireworks! Not exactly life-changing but I thought I'd celebrate the occasion with a bit of rainbow glitter.

The two polishes I used for this manicure are both from the L'Oreal Color Riche line. Macaron Noisette is a peach-toned nude with a fine silver shimmer running through. It's quite sheer so I used three coats to build up the colour (I know you can't see it here but that just about covers the nail line).

The glitter polish is called Sequin Explosion, and it really does what it says on the tin! It's a really dense glitter with blue, pink, green, yellow and silver hexes and lots of tiny silver pieces. Only a few light strokes were needed to create the gradient effect and I think two-and-a-bit coats for the full nail. It's very jazzy, which I like, the only downside is you might need a couple of layers of top coat to fully smooth it out.

I do enjoy a nice glitter gradient, and I especially love colourful mixed glitters like this one. From what I've tried, the L'Oreal polishes are very nice; my only gripe is the price. At £4.99 these seem fairly reasonable for a high street nail polish, but these bottles actually only contain 5ml of product. For reference a standard £4.99 Models Own bottle holds 14ml and you can buy a set of four mini (3.75ml) OPI polishes for under £15. Of course there's nothing wrong with a small volume, I know some people prefer that, I just feel like the way they are presented in tall bottles at tall prices the customer probably doesn't realise they're buying, what I would call, a mini polish.

Anyway rant over. The important thing is these are some nice polishes, and it was really simple to create this gradient effect. Now *fingers crossed* I have no more breaks!

  1. I think that these polishes are the beautiful and really good with some extra shine and the good colors. The price for them is really not much for such features.
